The Nor Cal CAPIO familiarization tour made a splash this week—we’re proud to say we’ve joined the sewer nerd club!

Our Nor Cal CAPIO crew got the VIP treatment with a behind-the-scenes look at one of the nation’s largest wastewater facilities! From waste removal to that final polish before release, we got to see the science in action.

The General Manager set the stage, sharing insights into every water treatment stage and showing us, how essential communications are in supporting the agency’s mission. 

Big thanks to Sacramento Sewer’s communications team for organizing the day! They guided us through their strategies to stay connected with the community and embody the agency’s vision.

We covered some serious ground—underground tunnels, rooftops, and even a bus tour! After watching millions of gallons treated daily, we left with a new level of respect for the dedication it takes to keep our environment thriving.

These tours are a chance to step away from the daily grind, soak in the inspiring work our peers do, learn something fresh, and connect with other comms pros who, like us, are making waves in their communities. Cheers to the Sac Sewer team for an unforgettable experience!
