Learn how CAL FIRE pilots train, see the aircraft used to fight
the state’s toughest wildfires, and you’ll gain an understanding
of how CAL FIRE communicates before, during and after an
emergency.
What you’ll see and experience:
- Experience pilot training simulators and see how crews prepare for wildfire missions.
- Get up close to CAL FIRE aircraft, from airtankers to helicopters and air tactical planes.
- See active hangars and maintenance operations that keep the fleet ready.
- Meet the pilots, mechanics, and frontline professionals behind aerial firefighting.
- Take in the scale: nearly 70 aircraft make up the world’s largest aerial firefighting fleet.
