Rachel McGuire

Rachel McGuire is the senior community affairs representative for Western Municipal Water District. Her responsibilities include assisting with the WMWD’s comprehensive communications program, including community engagement, strategic planning and emergency communications.

 

Prior to working at the Western Municipal Water District, McGuire served as the communications coordinator for the City of Carlsbad where she assisted with developing the city’s new website and social media efforts as well as the award-winning Carlsbad Currents newsletter. She also has worked for the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster’s communication departments. 

 

McGuire holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.B.A from University of Redlands. Currently, McGuire serves as CAPIO’s Second Vice President. She also holds a certificate in Public Participation Training from the International Association for Public Participation and also has her Competent Communicator certification through Toastmasters International.
